parts combo

A bit of reading suggests 416 heads from a 305 are better for a 350 than most other stock heads that aren't Vortecs. And it wouldn't hurt to let the machine shop fit 1.94" valves while they're there. And I should find an '87-up block if practical. Okay, I'm fine with all of that. I think I'm going to run a CCC Q-Jet until I'm ready to swap a 4.8L, and I know nothing about them, except that I need one to pass emissions inspection. Can it come from an earlier year? Will it pass with a Crower 514/535 270/277 217/225 cam on a 110 split? If not, how about a Lunati 507/515 262/270 211/219 on 112? Would the Crower be good with a 2600 stall? Would I even need a higher stall with the Lunati? I have a 3.42:1 axle, for now.
