Need some cylinder head help with Dart heads
Ok so....
I got some Dart iron eagle SS heads from a friend. Casting number 10021070 which are 72cc 1.94 intake 1.5 exhaust.
Problem is that I am missing 1 exhaust valve, spring, seal, copper shims, and keeper.
Long story short. My friend had a fight with a machine shop and they said they "lost" it. So , I need to find a replacement.
I pulled the valves. The exhaust valve has 150R and M-AH. I googled it and searched for a matching number.
Now I'm assuming I can use any valve of the same size and material??? The hard part is matching the valve spring. Is there a way to determine that?
Thanks guys.

Re: Need some cylinder head help with Dart heads
You would need to measure an existing spring and try to match.
Critical dimensions:
Height, OD, ID, coil diameter, # of coils.
See if the there is a part # on the spring.
You could also check with Dart because the PO could have bought the heads
partially assembled thru Dart versus bare assemblies. IF that was the case you can just get the new valve and spring from Dart.
Likewise if the heads need to be re-conditioned..(why where they at a machine shop ?) take them to another shop and have them find the missing parts needed as part of the rebuild.

Re: Need some cylinder head help with Dart heads
Thanks for the reply.
There are no numbers on the spring. I measure installed height at 1.650" and uninstalled height of 2.050"
I guess I'm going to have to take it to a machine shop $$$$$$$$$$.
The whole engine was at the machine shop to find out why it blew. According to my friend it was a rod bolt failure. The shop inspected the head on the cylinder that gave out. Apparently it never got reassembled.
I have inspected the head and everything looks good. Not even much carbon on the valves.

The best way to ruin a friendship is to buy a used car or used parts and assume it will have no issues.
Spend a few dollars and make sure the heads are OK before investing the time and money installing them.
