oil pressure gauge not working

I've put new heads and cam, intake, carb. and all the goodies required. it seems i have oil pressure as it splatters over my intake and headers with the valve covers off, but my oil pressure gauge is pegged at the top of the cluster, the oil pressure switch is new, but my harness is not COMPLETELY hooked up cause i have eliminated the computer. any ideas?

Re: oil pressure gauge not working

Does the gauge move when you cut the car on/off? If not, it could be stuck. But the gauge will peg when the wiring is unhooked or a bad sensor. Might want to check the wiring, especially since you said it isnt all hooked up. Find the right wire, if it is unhooked, well hook it up. If it is hooked up ground it and see if the gauge goes to zero. It should.
