Best cam I can find for that application. It'll even overcome the otherwise insurmountable obstacle that TPI creates to prevent power.

Re: Best Cam For The 250WHP 305 Behemoth

The 305 / TPI heads aren't known for good flow. At the very minimum - I would pull the heads when planning on doing a cam swap - do a home porting job and if possible take them in and have them milled as much as possible (machine shop should know when to stop before running into intake match/sealing problems), then have the seats cut for "big" 1.94 intake valves and put in a set of inexpensive SS undercut valves and springs that match your cam. Search around here - there are several people that have posted pics and templates for porting the 305 heads. Use a steel shim head gasket to bump the compression a tiny bit when re-installing the heads (they make an inexpensive .015" one and a .019 rubber coated one)

As for cam - there are several options depending on how much you want to spend - since you said non-roller block I'm going to assume that means you don't want to spend the cash on a retrofit roller setup and would rather stay flat tappet? I'm going to assume you've already home ported the TPI runners and base and have an aftermarket exhaust system here... I'd look at the Comp 268XFI H13 or the 260XFI H13 if you want more mid-range power. Either one requires 1.6 rockers (might as well go roller rockers) but they have good valve lift to take advantage of the airflow available in ported heads and intakes and make some decent power and still be computer compatible (although you will need to tune it - it will be easy with the wide LSA)
