How difficult would it be to get a 3.2 0-60 in an iroc?
How difficult would it be to get a 3.2 0-60 in an iroc?
Read an article (which I can't find again) about adding power to cars and the author said he had an 88 IROC-Z that had a 3.2 second 0-60 and a 11 second 1/4. When reading something like this, the mind starts to dream about whether or not that is reasonably achievable. So my questions are:
How much would it cost to build a camaro like this, assume that you start with a body with no drivetrain.
Forgive my ignorance but I assume that you would have to upgrade almost everything involved with driving I.e. brakes suspension transmission etc. how much would this cost
What modifications would have to be made so that you can shift, I assume most people can't shift through all the gears in 3 seconds.
If I were to do this, I would really only care about the 0-60 because I don't track drive at all so 1/4 doesn't really matter to me. Assume that the work is being done by you, i.e. not paying for a shop.
What's the total cost y'all come up with?

Yeah those articles aren't very firmly connected to reality, are they?
I'd suggest, first off, forget about "IROC" and "Camaro" and all that. A car is a car; sheet metal is sheet metal; the wrinkles and stickers don't have much effect on any of this.
Next, get a 6.0 or 6.2 as your engine platform. Inches are your friend.
Figure out how to get tires with at least a 300mm section on the rear.
From there, shouldn't be too tough.

Realistic at the track on slicks. Lower 11 sec car will get to 60 in about low 3's. figure 0-93 mph in 7.2-7.3 seconds. Thats typical low 11 second cars' 1/8 mile times
