Just bought another third gen. It's a 86 trans am with TPI. I want to convert it to carburetor. Question is that I don't really know how to convert to a mechincal pump. How would this be done? I searched but haven't really got any answers.

By bolting on a mech pump like any other SBC and reworking the engine bay fuel lines
then removing the elec pump from the tank

which is why most opt to just install a bypass fuel reg on the existing fuel lines to drop the pressure down to suit a carb
