Fuel Injector Questions

I have a 1985 2.8L v6 camaro. And I am going to be doing the swap from the original injectors to the ford bronco 2/ranger injectors tomorrow. My first question is can and should I change the cold start injector, too? My second question is how do you remove the cold start injector do you just pull on it and it pops out or is there a special method?

Re: Fuel Injector Questions

I wouldn't worry about the cold start injector, it looks like it bolts on.

Re: Fuel Injector Questions

Cool thanks for the information. I just went to the junk yard today and got a couple of injectors from a ford ranger 1988 but I did not realize until I got home that they were the pintel type. So I went back to the junk yard and pulled apart four 2.9L engines. None of them had the disc type fuel injector. I am going to have a buy a set from the auto parts store.

Re: Fuel Injector Questions

auto parts store is going to charge you an arm and a leg for injectors.
We have the bosch injectors non pintle. The price for the set is what you will probably pay for one new.
Let us know if we can help

Re: Fuel Injector Questions

Yah it looks like I am probably going to have to purchase them from the store or southbay. Can you give me a link to 6 disc 15lbs ford injectors for my 2.8L v6 engine?

The add says that they are for a firebird, but these are the ones you will need.

Re: Fuel Injector Questions

I am just double checking but these are the disk type injector correct? The reason I am asking is that there are no pictures of the injector tips and there is no description that specifies this.

Re: Fuel Injector Questions

I purchased a set of the injectors. I will be putting them in my car this weekend and I will post my findings.
