Mallory Hyfire HEI replacement - no start?
Gents,
I bought one of these units a couple of years ago....finally got around to installing it.
Pulled the cap and rotor, removed the 4 pin module and condensor, installed the Mallory unit, attached the pickup wires, attached the 3 wire connector the the distributor, set the switches (all off....8 cyl, 5k rev limit) reinstalled the rotor and cap....simple enough.
However, the car would no longer start....no cough, no attempt...nothing.
I checked the wiring...no issues.
Replaced my original HEI unit....started first crank.
Any ideas?
