Stalling problem - Please help
Hi all
My car keeps stalling when it gets warm.
What happens is that it stalls as it comes down to idle at the lights etc or when I back off the gas.
Unfortunately there is no one in New Zealand that can help.
I have changed the computer with one I brought from Tuned Performances who sponsor this site. Still not fixed. It seems to happen when I put a load on the engine i.e air con on or turn steering wheel at idle.
my thoughts are the emcal chip in computer or idle step up control.
Are either of these replacable?
I am thinking possily the chip as when I plug a diagnostic machine into computer I get NO reading from computer at all. Also the revs go weird at intersections either staying high or dropping down to nothing then stalling.
Any ideas or thoughts would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Adjust the Idle screw next to the TPI where the care Idles a little faster. this worked for me. The car idles a little fast until it warms up, but then it is perfect. The idle screw may have backed itself out a little over the years.

Sorry, Did not read that entirely I guess. I am not sure why the computer would not read. That i can't help with. But TPS sensor could be going out, or bad injectors. Lots of things it could be.

Check for vacuum leaks (especially at EGR valve) and check fuel pressure. Does the scanner power up? If not check the fuse panel. Power supply to the DLC is usually the lighter fuse.
