Factory Aluminum Intake

The intake that came on my 87' is factory aluminum dual plane. I have ported the intake from the outline of some new gaskets. Are these factory aluminum intakes "Better" than the Cast Iron ones from the late 80's era?

Sorry I don't have the answer, but I think it's really funny that the Scrap Metal Guy is asking if aluminum is better than cast iron.

Well....it probably WAS better than an old cast iron intake BEFORE you hacked it, but now it's anybody's guess, unless you can verify for sure that you didn't create a step from intake to head in any of the ports. Think about it; the gaskets shouldn't overhang the head port entry, they should be larger than the head ports, so using the gasket lines to port the intake runners is a bad idea.
But.....hey, your Al intake is still better......more money at the scrapyard
