Short piston pin height reliability

Is there any concern regarding short pin height pistons? When the pin height becomes so short that the pin intrudes on the oil rings is what I am talking about where oil ring supports required.

Does this cause issues with oil consumption or other wear issues? What about the overall length of the piston skirt in these applications?

I am putting my final configuration plan together and considering a longer than 3.75 stroke. Even with a 3.75 stroke the rod length affects this issue. In general a longer rod is desirable and if there are no issues with pin/oil rings and short skirts it opens up the options somewhat. Maybe a 3.75 stroke with a 6.125 rod and 1" pin height?

I am building a street motor and long term reliability is a high priority. Not a daily driver but a motor that will not be "freshened up" periodically. Hopefully not for a long time. If pin/oil ring interferance is not desirable then maybe I am better off with a 5.7 rod.
