Should I buy an '87 IROC? - car sat for 5 years

I'm considering buying an '87 IROC 5.7 automatic. It only has 40k miles on it and has a really clean interior (exterior is great except for some scratches on the door; all original paint). One issue, is that the 3rd (and current) owner bought the car and it wasn't running because it sat in a garage for 5 years. He changed all fluids, replaced the brakes and put new tires on. The main thing that concerns me is that he has only driven the car about 200 miles since getting it running. He's asking $11k for the car. Should I be concerned about this car's engine/transmission after sitting without being started for so long? Thanks for the help!

That car better be running strong with zero issues for 11K. If you don't know what you're doing I would get a professional to look at it. That's a lot of money we are talking.

i would be VERY concerned. My car has been sitting for two years, and atleast once a month i would go out and run it for 30-45mins and even still problems have arised.

I suggest you walk away an look on Craigslist. Better running Camaros for less hard earned money. I'm about to go look at an IROC this weekend for $1,200 and it just needs a paint job. I mean hey, its an IROC but for $11K and how long it has sat, tell him he's insane. Good luck man hope you find something suits you well!
