Good mechanic in New Haven, CT area?
Hi,
Not sure if this is the right forum for this question but it seemed like the best bet.
I'm looking to buy an 83 Trans Am that is just outside New Haven, CT. I am from Boston. Assuming I go through with the purchase I'd like to have a good mechanic give the car a once-over first - but I'm not familiar with shops in the area or which ones would have experience with older F-bodies.
Does anyone know anyone around there they'd recommend?
Thanks!
John

Good luck. New haven is just full of sheisters. The surrounding towns aren't any better either. I grew up there, that's how I know. Don't fall for the " I'll have the title later, but you can have the keys now " scam either. They sell the car twice and give the title to one and keys to the other. Car normally disappears to be used as a parts car later. Seen it too many times....
On a side note, tech one automotive in north haven has 1 f body enthusiast named Tim Amato. He knows his ****. May be worth giving a call.
