When I start my car, it usually fires no problem, with no odd noises. Except recently, especially on cold starts, I hear an almost metallic clank/knock sound from the engine. I'm not as mechanically knowledgeable as I would like to be but I don't like it.
The second sound is after the car is started, I go down the road and as I accelerate, I hear a high-pitched yet faint squeal/squeak. It isn't a metal to metal rubbing kind of squeak, it's more electrical sounding. I'm baffled. It also occurs when I shut my car off, and after the car has already stopped, it makes a residual high-pitched squeak for about 1 second and it goes away.
Neither of these happen every time I drive, but it worries me a lot and I really haven't been able to even figure out where they're coming from yet. Where should I look? Any suspects? Help!
