V8 1989 Firebird Idles rough
I've been working on my car for almost three years, I am almost done I just needed to put in new seat buckles and head liner. Then all of the sudden she won't Idle anymore if I leave it in park or neutral it will stay running but just barley at 600rpm but when backing up slowly or stopped at a light or stop sign she dies. I've tried adjusting the idle speed for three weeks with no avail. I just got it back from the garage where after 7 and a half hours they said they don't know what wrong, and the check engine light is not on and no codes came up. Anyone ever had a similar problem.

Which engine/induction system do you have? Since you talked about the check engine light not being on, and it's an '89 and a V8, that would mean TBI or TPI.
The 8th character of the VIN would tell us what it came with from the factory.
