How does this sound for a 305 build.

So I found a deal on some slightly used LPE valve train parts, but seeing as how they were in a L98 orginally are they to much for the LB9.

Here is the list of parts in question.

Cam specs are 230/230 @ .050" / .560/.560 lift, 110* CL.
COMP Cams Pro Magnum Hydraulic Roller Lifters 875-1
COMP Cams Hi-Tech Pushrods 7940-1. 7.2 length 5/16 diameter
Comp cam Pro Magnum Roller Rocker Arms. 1.52 ratio with lock nuts
And I will get some new valve springs with .550 of lift

Other mods are hedman shorty headers with no cat and slp loudmouth exhaust
BBK fuel pressure regulator set at 49 psi. K&n air filters tpi air foil. ( unsure of brand), msd blaster coil march underdrive pulleys,

Heads are 081 still stock no porting done

Car is a 5 speed

And I'm pretty sure I would need a custom chip to really take advantage if it would all work together.

Any thoughts

It should sound good. That's all I remember about my 219/229 camm'd 305 TPI with headers/exhaust.

Goodluck with install!

Sounds like your 305 isn't long for the world

But hey, we all gotta learn somehow sometime

Let us know how it works out, after maybe 5000 miles or so

A .560 lift cam/1.52 rockers isn't gonna work very well with springs rated for .550 lift.I doubt that 230 cam is gonna care much for that 308 rear very much either.

Get whatever springs are recommended for that cam...You'll need work done to the heads. Stock won't handle that lift. Not worth it IMO. Too much cam for that motor and heads/induction anyway...just being honest here...

Re: How does this sound for a 305 build.

I had not bought all the parts yet, and appreciate the feedback. I will just pass on all the valve train stuff. It seemed like a great deal and was gonna be my introduction to motor rebuilding, but another deal will come along sometime. Or maybe I'll buy it all and keep it stored till I find a good l98 block to rebuild.
