Injector help

Hi there

So I needed up needing new injectors for my 91 GTA 350. My mechanic just informed me that they aren't correct. So I contacted the supplier and was assured that these will bolt on to a stock fuel rail which I have. And that they are aftermarket so look different then stock. And we're in fact for the 91 GTA engine. Do these look like they would install the same? Or do I need to do any modifications?

Re: Injector help

Only modification you might need, is to grind a small amount off of the little boss things the rails sit on.

Those injectors will run VASTLY better than the Rochester ones that it came with. They're not "aftermarket", however; they're Bosch OEM parts, supplied on Frod products. (as evidenced by the Frod part # on them) Very much "stock"; just, "stock" from some other sheet metal configuration. Which you will find, gasoline behaves pretty much the same no matter who bent the sheet metal into what shape and put what stickers onto.

No need for "mechanic" to make things "correct"; your car is almost an antique. Do what has to be done and move on.

Re: Injector help

Yeah very true! It's been a battle from day one doing my 85 build with all the electronic changes. I have done everything myself except for the electrical where i attempted but was in over my head and wanted it done right. Aside from that all said and done Car looks beautiful and near completion. The injectors are the only thing standing in my way now. I just wanted to make sure that I can make these new ones work and you guys have been such great help in the past

Thanks

Re: Injector help

Wonderful comparison video that easily highlights the MAJOR differences between the Bosch injectors.

Re: Injector help

Hi! Just have another problem. Injectors are changed but I have a misfire on 6 and 8. Good spark, injector pulse and compression. Is it possible that the runners are on backwards? Can't seem to find any vacuum leaks

Re: Injector help

More likely, those 2 plug wires are swapped.

Re: Injector help

I have a 1987 camaro 2.8 it will run if I pour gas in the intake. It has a new fuel pump...all sensors (except egr, mas air, fuel pressure regulator)...new computer...new relays...fuses are good...injector wire harness replaced...fuel pump runs...noid light flashes when I turn the car over. the car ran real crappy before I changed the sensors, computer, and fuel pump. the old computer had a burnt spot on the board...car still ran, but I changed it out anyway. I have good pressure to the fuel rail. I have good spark.

Re: Injector help

Glad it was that easy!

Did you have to lower the fuel rails to get them to plug all the way into the manifold?
