TBI stalling on tight turns
I've replicated this with right and left turns. I've never completely stalled, but if I take a tight turn even slightly fast the engine wants to die for a few seconds then comes back like nothing happened. The first time I had very low fuel and it did die (right turn) today it happened twice during left turns but didn't die. It's a 91 so I *SHOULD* have the baffled gas tank but this car has some serious previous owner syndrome so who knows
I should mention my engine is an L69 converted to TBI if that makes any difference. No I don't have the old carb, but it's on my list.

Are you sure the TBI isn't original? They only had TBI and TPI in 91...
It could be that your fuel gauge is off and reading that you have fuel when in reality you are very close to empty. Fill it up and eliminate that as a possibility.
Is your steering column loose or wobbly?

Of course low fuel level could cause this, but I'm sure the OP can figure out the diagnostics if that's what's causing it. Since it's FI and it runs good under other circumstances, you gotta think this is an electrical issue.
G force generated during cornering or braking can wiggle a component or wire just enough to lose contact. The unusual thing in this case is that it happens when turning left OR right. I would monitor fuel pressure while this is going on.
Could also be ignition. I had a case with a small-cap HEI where the engine would stall (or almost stall) under hard braking, but would resume to normal right after the brakes were released. The problem turned out to be a rusted pole piece/reluctor in the distributor. It would have no problem generating a switching signal under normal conditions, but would cut out when under higher G force.

The column feels pretty good, but what were you thinking of if it was loose?
Dammit...

Thanks for the replies! Looks like I'm gonna be getting dirty today

Re: TBI stalling on tight turns
I had a 92 that the tilt pins were worn out on and if I pulled the column down enough it would shut the car off, more obvious what the problem was than your problem, but thought I would ask.
