Vacuum canister smog stuff

Catchy title? Anyway, I bought a 91 GTA with a L98 from an estate sale. It was sitting behind a barn for years. Where is the vacuum canister located? Mine is missing and I can't seem to figure out where it should be. Several smog items have been removed. I am currently trying to replace them. Will the smog valve assy from a 92 TBI 305 work on my L98? This is all I have to go on.

The vacuum canister should be located under the front of the car on the drivers side. A round ball (the Orb of Power). Note that it doesn't have anything to do with emissions. It is used for the HVAC system and cruise control.

Opps, my bad I was actually looking for the Charcoal canister. I found the vacuum canister, the mice ate the vacuum line to that too.

The CCP canister will/should be on the opposite side of the battery. In either the left or right front corner of the engine compartment. GM did switch them up as the battery could be on either side.

There is no room on the opposite side of the car from the battery. It is all taken up by the air box and the coolant reservoir. My 92 RS has it sitting there opposite the battery, I just can't figure out how one would slide into this GTA.

That's because there's an aftermarket or home made air box there. Factory has a round air intake cannister with the evap cannister next to it. If the original mounting plate is still underneath the air box you can see where they fit.

That makes sense, the air box does say K&N on it. I thought it was just a sticker. I guess I'll look for a factory one to replace it. Anybody got one laying around?
