Knock sensor and Calpak

Trying to make sure I get the right parts, yes I did search, came up a bit dry on the first part...

1. What Knock sensor for block# 14093638?
2. Looking for verification I need Calpak#16051636 for a '7747 ECM correct?

Thanks,
RD

KS has to be specific to your combo (ECM / engine ci / TBI or TPI ) ; is not related to the block

Nothing to do with the block? That goes against everything I have ever heard before...

The thread in the block drain hole used for mounting the KS has been the same since 1955.

The block is just a dumb lump of cast iron; it has no idea what ECM or intake setup you are using

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: Knock sensor and Calpak

The knock sensor is a little microphone, TUNED to the specific frequencies produced by a particular bore size. Think of playing a note on a beer bottle; very similar physical phenomenon.

It has NOTHING WHATSOVER to do with the ECM, other than, the ECM is one of the "consumers" of its signal.

If you have a 4" bore block, get a 350 knock sensor. Doesn't too much matter whether you get it for TBI or TPI, end result is the same.
