Power Steering Line Routing

I have an 86 camaro with a TPI and AC. The car was tore apart when I got it and I am now to the steering. I purchased a new pressure and return line but can't figure out how they go. It seems like they sold me the wrong pressure line. I was hoping someone had a picture of how the lines are supposed to be routed.

Thanks

Re: Power Steering Line Routing

See attachments.

The pages are from my '87 FSM. It should be the same as an '86.

For some reason, the FSM doesn't list the pressure hose routing for the LB9. The pressure hose routing for the LB9 is in the upper left hand corner. I visually confirmed this by looking at my Camaro.

Re: Power Steering Line Routing

Thanks for the info. It looks like there are 2 options there. One uses a fitting and a pressure switch. I did a little research here and it looks like the pressure switch is supposed to override the AC compressor. So I suppose at a low idle the compressor shuts down. Since I have the AC I probably need the pressure switch and fitting and the line I have appears like it will work with that installation.

I will have to do some more digging to see if I can find the pressure switch and fitting. Does anyone know if I delete the switch will the AC still work?

Re: Power Steering Line Routing

TPI (LB9) cars do not have the pressure switch.

Re: Power Steering Line Routing

There were two pressure switches for 87 LG4 cars. WO A/C a pressure switch would engage the throttle bump solenoid to increase the idle under low pressure. W A/C the pressure switch would cut out the compressor during low pressure. Can't say for TPI cars.
