Hey I have a 90 camaro 305 TBI and it surges when I accelerate. I'll be driving and it'll go from 4000 rpm and drop to 2000 rpm and back a few times before regulating. But then it drives with a little bit of a stutter. My best guesses are somewhere within the fuel or air system. Any help would be grateful. I tried looking through the forums first before posting but I'm a little limited with my phone.

 

Check the fuel pressure. It needs to be between 9 and 13 psi.

Fuel pressure is good. It sounds like I'm getting a lot of back pressure while I drive as well.

 

Exhaust back pressure == bad cat-con.
