First off, please be warned that I don't know much about cars/engines..that's why I'm working on this project lol. Now on to my question:

I have one 1987 Trans Am GTA with a 350 B2L/L98 TPI engine and rusted frame, and one 1988 Trans Am with no engine but a good frame. The '88 once had a 305 L03, which I believe is TBI (not 100% positive). Since I don't know a lot about the differences between the TBI/TPI engines, I was hoping someone here could explain the differences and help me understand what (and why) I need to swap from the '87 to the '88 to get it running. Usually I would assume everything (harness, ECM, engine obviously, etc), but the previous owner of the '87 hacked up the engine wiring harness a bit, so if the '88 TBI harness is the same, I probably should use that one since it's in better condition (which is my main question).

Sorry if that's a bad explanation; if you need any other information please just ask. Thanks for your help.
