slowmaro

So, as the title might point out, I have a slowmaro.
It's a 355tpi with mild cam, aluminum heads, hedman long headers feeding to a single pipe, cat, and flowmaster. It's got the edelbrock runners and intake manifold and fed by the stock air intake box, that's been cut to allow more air.

So I just bought this car over a month ago with the work already done. I took it to a track and found that it runs 14.25-14.31s. And I'm pretty sure it should be moving a lot faster than just under stock.
Any ideas? Tuning? I have no idea how to do any of that crap, so I was thinking of ditching the computer and running a carb.

Re: slowmaro

I'd definitely recommend a custom prom for the computer. Doing all that work to the car isn't going to do much if the computer isn't tuned to work with the changes.

Re: slowmaro

Just a question, How do you know for sure it's a 355 with a mild cam? And what brand is your cam and what are your cam numbers. What heads do you have? Has the plenum been ported? What size injectors? Has it had a custom tune? These are some of the questions the experts on here need for information.

Agreed!! Seems like it should run quicker, but it is the middle of summer and DA alone could be cripling the car.

Re: slowmaro

14.31 @ 95.42mph. 60ft 2.12s, 330ft 5.94s. When I got the car the guy showed me all his receipts and at the time I was so damn excited to find a car that was exactly like my dad's 87 IROC that I forgot to get them before I left. Not too sure on the brand of cam and can't remember much. Sorry guys. A friend and I ate probably gonna take it apart this winter, as he's my go-to guy for cars.

Might just need everything optimized and tuned. For all you know it may have a 305 Memcal in the ECM and even if it has a stock 350 Memcal in it, its probably far from running right.

Re: slowmaro

This is why I like carbs. Press throttle, dump fuel in.
My dad moved away just as I started to get into the car thing.
If I recall correctly the heads are edelbrock 185ccs
