Hi I have an 89 camaro 305 auto. Right off the bat in first gear it well almost red line then shift. When im in 2nd or 3rd and I give it gas, there is a delay will rev a few rpms then catch up and engage. When it comes to down shifting, it won't until almost a complete stop and will down shift all gears simultaneously.

Someone told me to change the transmission filter. I did that and I'm still having the same problems. Please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

 

Search for "TVC adjustment", start there first.
