TPI with a ZZ4?
Got a stock 85 IROC w/ 305. Also have a ZZ4 shortblock. Which heads would be the best choice for adding the stock TPI to the ZZ4? I also need to choose the best all-around cam for a stock geared camaro.

Re: TPI with a ZZ4?
Best for what? Best for getting it done cheaply would be to yank the heads off the old 305 and bolt them onto the 350. Best for performance would be something aftermarket, smaller than ~195cc intake port volume.
Since the 85 still uses the "traditional" intake bolt pattern and port location, your choices for heads are VAST.
As for the cam, since you have a roller block, the quickest route to victory would be a production line LT1 or LT4 cam. They are VERY similar to the stock L98 350 TPI cam, but with more lift. If you want to go more aggressive, you can, but don't go overboard. The TPI intake system isn't going to be happy trying to work with a cam designed to work at higher RPMs.
I should point out that not all aftermarket heads have exhaust crossover ports. Without them your EGR system won't work. Must be turned off in the chip if you decide to go that way. Also, I should point out that the 305 TPI system will RUN on top of a 350, but it won't be optimal without tuning and larger injectors. And once you add a non-stock cam, a custom tune is basically mandatory.

Re: TPI with a ZZ4?
ZZ4 = the Vette L98, w a different cam & a carb intake
Therefore, for TPI, I'd suggest a TPI-compatible cam and a set of Vette L98 heads (casting 113). Might not be a world-beater or anything, but will surely work at least reasonably well, while avoiding stooopid mistakes.
