Crank but no start unless throttle down

I can start it with gas pedal down but will die immediately as soon as I let go

Fuel pressure at 40 psi

Inj ohm at 13 and are getting power at the connector plug

Getting spark to plugs checked by grounding each one however all plugs back so clearly getting fuel
Timing at tdc at the moment

New cap coil and rotor
Icm checked out good
Pickup coil had resistance at the plug connector can't recall value though (400-700)

Vats disabled thru chip and tunerpro shows all my sensors working when I keep it running

And no vacuum leaks I'm aware of

This happened after I changed my intake gaskets and installed a clutch kit and flywheel as well...I started it up at the time and let it idle for about 5 min then just died and hasn't started since. My last dreaded option is to check compression but was hoping for any other suggestions? Thanks

Maybe , way too much fuel ?

As you likely know , flooring the pedal puts the ECM into "clear flood" mode and shuts OFF the injectors . If it will only start with the pedal all the way down , and die the second you release the pedal I'd check for either a failed fuel pressure regulator or one or more stuck open injectors . Either of which could have coincidentally happened during the gasket change .

To change the gaskets , you had to take apart the fuel supply and return lines , yes ? This may have allowed particles of contamination to make it to the injectors and hang one or more open ?

Have you checked the vacuum line from the manifold to the regulator for the presence of raw fuel ?

Re: Crank but no start unless throttle down

Thanks for reply the raw fuel smell is present but no actual fuel In line....plus it holds pressure at shut down as welI ...read about the injectors shutting off when throttle is down which explains start up but good point on contaminates in fuel line which ultimately could of clogged injectors ..... I guess I could swap injectors and see thanks for the info!!!

Re: Crank but no start unless throttle down

Long story short:

I bumped the idle screw up enough to keep it alive and checked the timing and I was waaayy off

never had this happen before, usually get TDC and Im good to go...somehow missed this...sorry for the extra thread...hope this helps someone in the future as many other similar threads have had this result.
