Tbi to tpi stealth ram question
I wanted to change my car from tbi to tpi and am looking at the vortec stealth ram intake, my car right now has a 355, has a decent cam, 65lb injectors, stock tbi on top, ported and polished intake and heads, if i went with the vortec stealth ram intake, 58mm holley throttle body, and 24lb injectors, and vortec heads with roller rockers, what kind of gains would i be seeing?
Re: Tbi to tpi stealth ram question
Well, your wallet will definitely be lighter, so the car will go faster.
It's pretty much an unanswerable question. Depends on the tune (both combos), depends on whether the motor happens to like the Stealth Ram sitting on top of it better than the TBI setup, etc. The more aggressive (heavy-breathing) the motor is, the more it will favor the Stealth Ram. Said another way, if you are leaving HP on the table right now vs. what the motor is actually capable of, you'll probably get most of that back again with the Stealth Ram. But that's just a generalization.
