Finding TDC

Helping a neighbor kid doing an engine swap with a new crate 350 on a 86 camaro. Its been awhile for me, and trying to remember if its the exhaust or intake valve on number 1 cylinder that needs to be extended, (at full stroke), when the crank is at TDC in order to install the distributor.

Thanks in advance

Re: Finding TDC

TDC with NO valve action is firing position for cylinder #1.
