305 cam question
I have the De-tuned 86 305. I am rebuilding and want to use the 87-92 cam. I see a cam from Titan on eBay that match the spec listed on the third gen tech page. Has anyone used or purchased a cam from Titan? Price is reasonable. Thanks for any replies.
Re: 305 cam question
I've used the Summit K1102 house brand (flat tappet) cam several times to upgrade from the LG4 "peanut cam". It's a little hotter cam than the L69HO cam, but just by a smidge. Works fine with the ECM. Quality is good. Price is right.

Re: 305 cam question
The cam says use flat followers
Would that make it like the 85 motor?
Never heard of "Titan". Of course I don't claim to have heard of everything; but I'd like to think I've heard of most actual cam manufacturers. Which that is NOT. Meaning, I wouldn't trust it as far as I could throw it, let alone spend any money on it, considering the amount of damage a flat-tappet cam failure can cause to an engine. They might be perfectly reputable and reliable; but if they're not, .... then what?
Re: 305 cam question
86 was an oddball motor. It got a one piece rear main seal, but not yet the roller cam. It's basically a regular old 85 flat tappet block but with a one piece rear main seal.
