remaned vortec heads

is this a pair of vortec heads from rock auto?
remaned vortec, $342.79

in the description it lists 16 valves, but seems cheap to me. If it is a set is there any reason not to do these over rebuilding my 416's? by the time I do enlarged valves plus the parts to rebuild I would think this might be a better option.

You would have to run a vortex style intake.

That is for a single head and it's about the going rate for a stock reman head. When it says 16 valves that means the engine is 16valve - unlike the newer overhead valve engine where you've got 32 valve v8's and such - it's another data point to identify the engine - makes more sense when you see it as options such as a 2 liter 8 valve or a 2 liter 16 valve...

That said I wouldn't go with those heads since the springs will likely need to be upgraded to run any sort of decent cam or the guides cut for high lift, etc. I'd find a set and have the local machine shop rebuild it and cut the guides for high lift cam clearance.

you are FAR better off having a competent machine shop go through your "416s" . you DO realize they are a 305 head??

I would look at Summit Racing® Cast Iron Cylinder Heads for Small Chevy SUM-152123 There a cheep head but would be way better than a stock head and would probably be cheaper than getting a new intake, self align rockers, springs, maybe retainers and possibly machine work done on top of getting a set of vortec heads.
