I recently bought an 83 camaro z28 that had a 350 swap done with a 350 out of a Chevy panel van. They apparently took it out of the van and built it as a 355(that's what the previous owner knew at least, the engine was swapped when he bought it). Anyways, unfortunately some of the stuff that was done during the swap wasn't done neatly. The main thing being the engine oil dipstick. Its on the passenger side of the engine and it comes up between the header pipes, but its not long enough. From the looks of it they shortened the tube and then cut the dipstick to fit but cut it too short and doesn't read any oil. What i'm wondering is what would be the correct replacement tube and dipstick for a 350 engine? I've found a few but i'm not sure if they would be the correct one....

Don't worry about "350". Just get the one for a 83 Camaro 305.

iirc the only difference between the 305 and the 350 is the bore diameter.
Most parts are interchangeable.

Luckily through my research i eventually found that out But i really appreciate you guys answering my question too

Run the 305 until it dies.
Then swap.

No sense murderin' a good engine while it's got some kick left.
