Fuel Injector problems.

I have a 1988 pontiac firebird gta. I had 2 bad fuel injectors that needed to be replaced. I went to oryllies and got 2 new ones, when I got home, I noticed that the injectors are 2 different lenghts but they guarunteed that they would work. So I installed them and checked for leaks and plugged all my connections back in. now when I go start my car... it will only run for about 2 secons at a crappy low idle. But if I give it gas, the rpms will go up and then die again when I let my foot off the gas. I was going to check for leaks but now my car wont stay started. Anyone know what could be happeneing? possiable air leak? it back fires as well. And If I disconnect my MAF it will stay started but at a verry low idle. Thank you.

Re: Fuel Injector problems.

I assume that they are 2 different types of injectors. Do you have any leakage from the rail side?
Which injectors do you have? Do have part numbers?
