1.6 RR and exhuast note

will putting 1.6 RR on a mostly stock l-98 change the exhaust sound like a mild cam would. I was considering going this route because I don't feel comfortable doing a cam swap and not sure if I want to spend the money for a shop to do it

I am not too sure on the noise it actually makes out of the exhaust but I have heard these things are noisy! Saw a camaro with these rockers in his engine and they make a lot of noise in the engine bay and outside the car regardless of how much you adjust them. A cam swap will make the idle lumpy depending on the cam if that's what you want.

Re: 1.6 RR and exhuast note

No not really. The rocker ratio only adds a couple of degrees of duration @.050", non added to adv. duration and increase the valve lift. This will not really change the exhaust tone or note.
