intake help
Hey guys.
Took my car to a mechanic so they could replace the water pump they put in under warranty. They showed me the intake was leaking really bad in the back of the passenger side and said it is probably pitted. Is this just a gasket or do I need a new intake?

You won't know until the intake is off. Aluminum intakes do have a tendency to be corroded in those coolant ports. Especially tpi's that are all over 20 years old. Depends on how bad the corrosion is to determine if you need a different base.

Just a base. On the plus side it gives you a good reason to go to an aftermarket and/or ported base.

Good deal then. I'll take it off, do some cleaning and see what I'm looking at. May be lucky to get away with just a gasket hopefully.
