Won't start....Help!
New member here. Just purchased a 1992 Camaro RS for our son yesterday. We drove it approximately 45 miles to get it home and then drove it again last night to our local gas station. Went out this morning to take it out for the afternoon, it started up just fine, but after a few revs of the motor, it died. Now, the engine is trying to turn over, but hasn't successfully started. My husband checked the fuel pump, it's still humming when the ignition is in the ON position. Looking for any troubleshooting advice
....this was meant to be his A to B car for work and school, so we hope to get it running before August!
P.S. This vehicle sat for a good year or so before we bought it. The fuel pump was last changed in May of 2011 and has an extensive list of shop receipts for other various replacements.

Check to make sure its got fuel pressure with a gauge. Also check to make sure its getting spark. When is the last time it had a basic tune up. plugs, wires, fuel filter, cap and rotor? Pull a plug and see if it is wet and black.
You said it sat for a year did you use ne gas treatment or ne thing before running it?

Like 357 said check fuel pressure at the rail, should be in the low 40's range. If lower could be a clogged fuel filter since the fuel pump has already been replaced. Spray some stater fluid into the intake while trying to start it. If it tries to turn over you should have spark, if it just cranks, no spark. Possibly a bad ICM. Also, ohm your injectors, should be in the 13-14 range. If not grouped well together, replace them. Got mine from Southbay. Also check for a ruptured FPR diaphragm. Pull the vacuum hose from it and see if fuel is present. May not be able to tell till you get the car started. Good luck.
