Hey i have a 92 rs v6 and its over heating,
the fan isnt kicking on
-i check the fuse, motor, and relay they are all good.
-it doesnt kick on when i turn the ac on.
-the temp gage on the insturment panel isnt reading (when i key it on the gage moves so i assume the gage it self is operational) and i replaced both coolant sensors.
-I'm thinking something is wrong with the temp sensor wiring to the ecm
anyone have ideas?
-the single wire sensor just controls the gage readings, right? has nothing to do with fan control?
-and the 2 wire sensor sends readings to the ecm and controls the fan correct?

 

im going to trace wires from the sensor to ecm tonight and post my findings.
Also bypass the ignition switch for the single wire sensor, I suspect its wiring is faulty inside the steering column (as where my vats wires).

 

Silly question- if you run straight 12V to the fan, does it turn on? I'd hate to see you do all that work tracing wires to find the fan motor itself is shot. These cars are no spring chickens any more.
