Hello all
I recently changed plugs and wires. now my fusible link keeps burning up. after i changed plugs and wires the car 87 gta, ran great. did beautiful burn out car ran 3 more feet then died.

I opened hood and seen link smoking, near starter. i checked to see if any wires were touching. didnt see any thing. changed link. drove care around 100 miles, car died again
now i changed link 3 more times. as soon as i connect the battery, fuse burns right out. i checked all wires under the hood i dont see any issues. how do i check wiring via mulitmeter?

Sure you have the right fusible link? Incorrect gauge wire will catch fire faster than a fox news headline.

 

looked like same gauge. i did let me drive for a few hours before it burnt up

 

checked ground straps. they look good.. could issue be inside of car, radio or steering column

 

anyone?
