Fluctuating RPMs while in Drive or engaging HVAC.
Hey everyone, I have an 88 GTA w/ 5.7 TPI and it currently is having issues with driving.. sorry for the long post.
I'm running into two issues with this car, I will be driving and applying a light/moderate amount of gas and it will randomly drop RPMs and you have to let off the gas and pull over or it continues to bog down. (Eventually stalling the car).
I also have it when engaging any HVAC (A/C, vent, etc.) it will drop RPMs extremely low and it will have a hard time idling until you turn off the HVAC. (This issue seems random, as today it didn't cause this to happen).
I have replaced plugs/wires, distributor cap/rotor, IAC, TPS, & MAF... Along with performing a sea-foam & cleaning the throttle body- still no luck. Only code is 36, which happened when installing new MAF.

I did check the fuel regulator and it wasn't leaking gas.. I just am not sure where to turn. I'm debating just taking it to a shop to see if they can diagnose it a bit.

Have you checked all your vacuum lines? You could be letting unaccounted for air into the engine causing it do die. Not sure if your gta has the electronic ac but most have the vacuum ac system which would support a vacuum line being broken

Ok, I just wanted to come back here and update in case anyone stumbled across this.
Turns out the computer's ground was disconnected and a few other grounds were loose.
After reconnecting them, the car is running smooth
