screech in 2nd?
Hi
Does your stock 305 or 350 made your tires screech in 2nd gear? If so, at what speed?
My 350 automatic GTA barely screeches in 2nd even if Im below 10mph. At 20-25mph, even in 1st gear I can barely screech the tires.
Is it normal?
My car runs fine. Clocked 6.9 in 0-60mph last week.
weird :/
bye!

Re: screech in 2nd?
I believe the softer shifting of a 700r4 may be the culprit. Throw a shift kit in that trans and I bet you'd be burning into second more often.

That's all about your transmission. Like was said, get a shift kit.

Re: screech in 2nd?
gear ratio is big too. ...and tires. Before I really got into doing mods, and was still daily driving, I could spin tires in second with old GoodYear tires. Bought new potenza's and that stopped, LOL. ....then I swapped in a 3.27 gear and got a new built 700r4, and it would spin easily!!!!! ....then I got LCAs and LCA relo brackets, new springs/shocks, and a torque arm. ...and then it was a lot harder. ...soooo many variables. transmission, suspension, tires, rear end gear.....

Re: screech in 2nd?
yeah of course. You meant a new standard 700r4 or a modified one?
However, from the 1st to 2nd the gear ratio difference is very big

heck, another thing to consider - the road you drive on. Different qualities/types of pavements are more or less suitable for chirping tires too.

Re: screech in 2nd?
Shift kit is the biggest factor. I would carefully adjust the tv cable once the kit is installed. Gears will also make a difference.
I have a built 700r4 with 3:73 and the tv cable is adjusted quite firm. Second gear shifts are very satisfying. The b&m shifter is a nice addition to the whole experience.
