Tips for buying

Hey guys I need some help in buying another thirdgen. I already own an IROC and I bought that over the summer with little prior knowledge of thirdgens at all, i just went out and looked at it like a normal car. But now I have realized that there is a lot to look at when buying one of these cars. So I'm asking anybody if there are certain things to look out for when buying one. If it matters I'm looking to buy a TA but tips about any kinds of thirdgens would be appreciated as I am still in the market.

I did the same thing with my bird, just bought it cause it was cool looking and sounding. I didn't know S*** about thirdgens but then I found this site! If I look for another one, I'm gonna make sure it has the RPO (option code) sticker in it. I'll also check the wheelwells and floorboards for rust spots (PITA to fix). I'd make sure to romp on it during the test drive to see if can handle me, and get a carfax report on the car, look up the VIN on this site to make sure its a real Trans Am or whatever. Also I'd try to make sure it had all the stock accesories such as correct spoiler, rims, ground efx, nose, hood, tailights. Otherwise I might get another "frankenstein". But that's just me! LOL

Oh yeah I'd make sure the headlights go up and down cause the motors aint cheap, although sometimes its just relays. Eye the gaps between all the panels and make sure theyre relatively even. Make sure the radiator air dam is there or you'll have cooling problems.
