have a car what to do?
I can get my hands on a 91 Firebird t-top auto for FREE. The car was in a slight front end collision, the airbag was deployed but the damage does not seem that bad at all. The hood seems to be untouched all that appears that the car needs in a front facia and maybe some headlight work and an airbag. How hard of a repair would this be to do myself (I have some limited body skills but do have some skills, mechanicals I do better on)? How much would the facia and airbag cost? The thing that attracts me is the t-tops--I think it would be sweet in the summer. Please let me know.

Free is a very good price.
The body work shouldn't be too difficult if you have experience.
I'd leave the airbag installation to a professional, or just go without it.

I think that the most expensive part is gonna be the airbags, I know y you would want then for saftey... but you prolly wouldn't need it if you wanted to make that choice...the older camaros didn't have them..

Just forget the air bag and get a good looking Grant steering wheel. It'll probably cost less than getting a new air bag and it'll look cool. Everybody knows that good looks are better than safety any day

My Camaro had front end damage, including: driver side fender, front fascia, and hood. I bought my front fascia for $180 (i think) from a GM Parts Dealer. It's not hard to put on, of course mine isn't a Firebird. Check out how good I didn't fixing mine. I still don't have a new hood though, I'm waiting till I get about $380 to get a 2" cowl induction hood.

Man I just sold my extra Airbag. You can find them on ebay fairly cheap. You will need to get new deployment sensors. I don't think they reset. Their is one by the hood latch and one under the console.
Thanks guys. Since the airbag is on there from the factory I'd like to put one back on. Also thanks for the imput for replacing the deployment sensors.
I got a better look at the car today. It is a 3.1 auto (I like stick better
). Has pdl, pw, pdl. The drivers fender and door need to be replaced. There seemed to be no to little damage to the actual structure so it apprears to be a bolt on bolt off repair. Where is a good place to look for the parts? websites or businesses....
How much should these parts cost?
1)Airbag
2)front facia
3)drivers fender
4)driver's door
I'd probably get the deployment sensors from GM if they aren't too salty.
