fuel pump problems?

Hi all I have a 1984 Firebird 5.0l carb'd. Recently it has been running wierd. Itstarts and seems to idle fine but when I drive it. The car stalls within one minute of driving. After reading around the forums I figuredthe electric fuel pump was weak or not working, I turned the key and I didn't hear it turn on so I pulled the tank and was about to get a new pump but I want to check the wiring first. I have a multimeter but I am not sure what to check. I am reading about an inline fuse in-between the battery and the radiator (I think I found it but I'm unsure what wires to check. And I'm there is a relay somewhere but I have no idea what it looks like. Can someone send pictures pointing me to these things and how exactly I can make sure that the fuel pumpis getting power. Thanks
