Dip stick tube loose
i installed headers 10 years ago and last week while crimping new plug wires I notice the dip stick tube was looser than normal. Just wondering if this tube has a gasket or what is holding it in place. When the headers were installed I think the small bracket was hacked off that stabilizes the tube. Now it is just flopping around but not leaking or anything. Can I just leave it like this till I pull the motor in a few years??

Yeah age does that...
or so I hear... do they make Viagra for those?
Butt seriously: it's supposed to be a press fit into the block. If it's loose, either it's broke off, or it's just lost its press. You can get new ones and just swap it out. Pull it up (the tube) and see if you get the whole thing, if so, piece o cake to plop a new one down in there. Locate the tube by sticking the stick through (hahaha), set the tube into the block, use a bolt or something set in the top of the tube to bonk it into the block.
