Hey Family

After 20 long years I finally bought my first 3rd gen Camaro. I have a 1990 G92 Z28. I'm going to be swapping in a 5.3/T56 combo. I look forward to making friends here and also showing my build as I go. It's a roller for now so I'm going completely throughout the car. Any advice and input would be appreciated.

Welcome and enjoy your new F-body!

If by 5.3 you mean the vortec I would take a look at LS options and if possible go there. A lot more aftermarket support.

Re: Hey Family

The 5.3(327CID) is an LS based engine. It's the widely used smaller engine in GM trucks and full size SUVs.

Re: Hey Family

That would be the LM7, 5.3, 327ci, LS engine. Hot rod did a cool turbo budget build. 800 hp for under 2k

Re: Hey Family

Thanks, I didn't remember the engine code. I just know I see alot of those engines. Unless ordered with the 6.0, pretty much every GM truck and full size after 99 got the 5.3. I don't know about squeezing 800hp out of one. I guess it would be fun for a minute or two before it comes apart. Sounds like something the crazies at Hotrod would do.

LS based generation, but it's not an LS motor

Edit: my mistake I guess technically it is considered an LS motor
