ouch my ignition lock cyl got stuck ... so I had to drill it out... no I did not mess up the housing ,,, so how does one go about replacing the cylinder? I cked out Youtube and found lots of them but not in a bird of my era... 1984... any tricks I should know about ??? can this be done w/o puling the wheel ??? oh and where do you suggest I get a new cylinder?? yes I found that to be very helpful...got it in... bought from Rock Auto... only thing is there is no adjustment for the ignition switch accentuator rod coupled to the cylinder, so it didn't want to start ,,, I put a block of plastic between the rod and the column to facilitate a tightening adj... but that's kinda bogus to it would be nice to have an actual adj to set it up correctly... geez this forum is very cool....

Yes there is an adjustment.

The switch itself is held to the column by 2 screws. You loosen them, slide the switch along the column to put it in the correct range of motion of the rod, and re-tighten them. No alternate-ethnic-engineering required.
