Looking for some flywheel opinions, turn the OEM, or Advance Auto $115 China Wheel

Hello,

I was hoping I could get some solid advice to do. The flywheel is for my 93 M29 T56, the OEM LT1 style with the pull clutch. I bought a new one from Advance Auto and when comparing it to the old one the casting seems like it is very course, it just does not strike me as being the same quality as the OE one.

This is the link for the new one:

The OE flywheel, if I put this one back on, will be turned twice in all.

I was just wondering if anybody had any opinions or thoughts on this topic. I am not quite sure what to do.

Put on the new one from advance auto, or get the OE flywheel turned again and reinstall this one?

Thanks for any input.

IF the OE meets min. thickness specificiation after turning, run it.

Perfection Clutch makes good stuff. If you ever run into an issue, their support line is the best. (I called them for spec numbers when cobbling my frankenstein setup together.)

Don't turn a flywheel on a lathe. Have it ground. I'd much rather have a resurfaced original flywheel (as long as it isn't cracked) than a China flywheel.
