Idling problem
Hello, I have a 92 Camaro and it has a 350 carbureted by a edelbrock carb..it has no ecm since when I bought the car it has been gutted.
The carb has been sitting for a while. Could get it started... I need to buy a new msd dizzy. I also just rebuilt the carb.
The problem it is idling way to high. And when I try to use the idling screw it stalls. When in gear it goes way down the the point of stalling.
I have a digital timing light and I was told to put it to 36 advanced and put the timing mark on zero on my timing mark.
Also I noticed that I can push my break all the way to the floor..... I changed the one way valve on the break booster... New pcv valve.
Is this a vacuum problem? Can get it to idle under 1000 rps
Thanks!!!!

What cam is in the engine? Classic symptom of big cam, stock stall torque converter
I have a digital timing light and I was told to put it to 36 advanced and put the timing mark on zero on my timing mark.
Did you do that at idle? 36* should be your total timing at 3000-4500 rpm with out the vac advance hooked up. At idle you should be around 12-16*
Also I noticed that I can push my break all the way to the floor..... I changed the one way valve on the break booster... New pcv valve.
Sounds like it could be a big cam causing low vac levels, or could be a bad booster, master cylinder, brake line, etc.
What is your idle vac?
Is this a vacuum problem? Can get it to idle under 1000 rps
High idle could be a combo of your timing and carb adjustments, or you could have a vac leak somewhere.
Thanks!!!!

That's the screw behind the throttle adjustment screw.....?
I may be that second screw... I have no idea how to adjust that screw....because after you open the throttle it never goes back to those two notches it has on it...
