Deleting smog system, will it work?

I would like to remove all of the smog components from my L98 IROC camaro. I would also like to make the catalytic converter "very free flowing" and install a flowmaster muffler. I was also thinking of removing the screen from my maf sensor and installing a ram air system. Does anybody think these mods will be worth the time. With the smog deleted, I will probably install headers as well. Any info would be appreciated on any computer problems I might encounter.

You won't have any computer problems. Don't remove the screens. Not worth the time or the risk of ****ing up the MAF. Everything else sounds good.

I beg to differ on the screens. They've proven around 200cfm increase just by removing the screens and it's very easy. just take the maf and hold it on end pulling out the screen facing the floor with some needle-nose pliers. You can then go in and grind the metal ring out of the plastic. the heat sinks are the part that are critical since you can either damage the plastic inside or the maf wires and they only gain around 20 or 30 cfm. Since there is no aftermarket MAF available that I've found yet, this is the only way to get a MAF that breathes very well. getting rid of the smog equipment won't increase power much if at all but getting it out of the way sure makes it easier to work on. headers without A.I.R. are a lot easier to work around as well. If you can, just remove the cat all together because a gutted cat creates turbulence to some degree but if you have a visual inspection, just gut it like you're planning.
