radiator question

I have never had a radiator prob before... so im wondering...

My raditor leaks fluid when im at idle or a stop (prolly does it as im moving but i cant see that!) It just happened racently... Is this telling me that I should start looking for a new one.. Or should I first start off with trying Bars Leak or something, and if that doesnt work I should start seraching for a new one..

And if I should happen to have to get a new one, Whats the price range that I'm looking at.. 85 Z28 TBI 305

Thanks for the help,
John

have you changed the hoses recently?

maybe you cracked one of the tubes where you hook the hose up

another thought, are you sure that your water pump didn't give up the ghost? they leak from a drainage hole on the bottom of the pump usually..

Like said above, I would check to make sure where the leak is coming from before you waste money on a radiator. Especially the hoses if they are old, or make sure they're still tight.

If you do have to replace it, I hear autozone sells them fairly cheap, but I wouldn't trust those. I got mine from Summit, Griffin aluminum 3core $180.

the AutoZone radiators are good man..

i used to work there, 90% of ALL their radiators are aluminum not plastic..

they all have a lifetime warranty, as well..

The leak is coming straight out the bottom, near the center.

I think he means at the center bottom of the radiator. I would double check though. I know one time, a hose came a little loose on me (the lower hose) and the antifreeze trickled out of the hose and along that metal railing that the radiator fits on. Make sure it isn't flowing from the hose along that railing.
